Windows to Success VIII
Workroom Topics Survey

We are in the process of planning Windows to Success VIII and are pleased to announce that we will have two separate sessions specific to workrooms, along with two separate sessions specific to designers.  We of course will have the Vendor Hall and sit down lunch as well.  In order to present workroom topics that most interest our workroom members we are asking for your input.  Please help us by taking a minute to complete this short survey.

Four suggested topics and descriptions are listed below.

Taming the Sheer
Beautiful sheer fabrics are trending in today's market and designers are selecting them for styles of all kinds, challenging the workroom's fabrication skills.  In this class we will walk students through several treatments such as the sheer shade, lined sheer and banded sheer, showing how to tame this often shifty textile
Repeat After Me
Have you ever calculated yardage for a job, only to find out after the fabric arrives that it was a drop match?  Have you ever cut four identical cuts but when you went to match the seams, they didn't match?  Or, have you ever stared and stared at fabric wasting valuable time, afraid to make that first cut?  Even the seasoned fabricator can get confused dealing with difficult pattern repeats.  In this class students will learn a sure fire way of calculating yardage to never be short, regardless of type of pattern repeat.  Students will also learn the techniques and processes of verifying the type of match, planning the cuts and perfectly matching seams.
Bays, Bows and Corner Windows
In this class students will learn how to tackle the difficult windows of bays, bows and corners.  Measuring, calculating the angles and cutting will be discussed with all types of hardware and styles of treatments, from decorative rods to how to do a hard cornice and more.  Should it be hinged?  Should it have velcro?  Will it fit?  After this class you will be armed with the knowledge to handle these windows with pure confidence.

The Favorite Functional Four:  Cordless Shades
In this class students will see functional cordless versions of the four "favorite" shades:  flat, relaxed, london and hobbled shades.   Full fabrication methods will be shared leaving students confident to create each style.  Compliant of course!
