Please join us for a presentation from our very own Chapter Member, Deb Cronin.
Pleating to pattern has moved from occasional detail to mainstream within our workroom and design community. Sometimes planning pleat to pattern is straightforward, but some fabrics offer multiple options as well as challenges. In addition to samples and slides, we will explore the design and fabrication elements of this beautiful high-end detail with hands-on experimenting with a variety of fabrics. For example, we will see how the approach to pleated drapery headers differs from wave headers, and how the approach to flat romans differs from hobbled romans. Attendees are encouraged to bring a sample of a patterned fabric for the group to brainstorm!
About our Speaker
Deb is the owner of Leatherwood Design Co, a custom window treatment fabrication studio, located in Ossining, New York. Deb works to the trade and delights in fine fabrics and workmanship. It's an understatement to say we love what we do! Begun as a part-time pillow and cushion workroom in 1987, in 1999 we became a full-time workroom creating window treatments. Fabric and sewing has been Deb's life-long obsession and if you've had a chance to meet her, you can tell she loves what she does. Deb loves to share her vast workroom knowledge and special techniques and has been a featured speaker at many industry events.
